Welcome to this new episode of Breathe in, Love Out. I am very pleased that you are here. For the ones who do not know me, I am Doctor Nathalie, a metaphysical practitioner. I am deeply grateful to have been able to help and inspire people for a few decades now.

It is not always easy to believe in ourselves and stop the ego controlling our mental space. I know a lot about this! And over the past 30 years, I became an expert in gratitude and ego-based mind. 

Each episode is a little light switch to light up your path, helping you to bridge your way to your inner Self. Today, you might learn from what I will share, and you might only be reminded of something your ego might veil.

The goal is to help you better understand your mental space, and to learn to know your Authentic Self a little more every day. 

The ego-based mind loves to be in control, but we can take our control back with mindfulness. 

So again, welcome, and I am very grateful that you are here on this magnificent mindfulness journey. 

Let's lift up those ego veils.

Today, let’s look at those hidden desires.

To be true to yourself, you cannot only play pretend. You need to acknowledge your emotions in order to work on improving yourself and reaching that Authentic Self that is you, who you are.

Accepting to hear the negative emotions can allow you to find those hidden desires, the ones coming from the heart helping you to become authentic. The ones your ego-based mind might keep you from seeing or believing that you can desire them.

I am inviting you to use one negative emotion and do an introspection by going underneath that emotion to discover the hidden desire. Look into your belief system to update it and renew it to see if it resonates with you today, and not who you were before. 

Desires also go through updates. Not because those desires changed, but because there might have been some ego details added to them.

Take the time to free yourself from convictions that you have adopted from others, and that are not in harmony with your Authentic Self... making you feel torn inside and making you feel confused.

Under a negative emotion, there is a misalignment. The non-said that screams to come out and seek your attention again. A deep desire that wants to see the light. And I say ‘again’ here because to create a misalignment, it took a few bumps on the road allowing this misalignment. 

And yes, I voluntarily used the word allowing instead of causing because you simply had to get to this misalignment to now be aware of it. 

Some people are the don’t-fix-it-if-it-is-not-all-broken type. And some people are learn-to-live-with-it types. Both prefer not to take the time to be aware and play pretend that nothing is going on instead of believing in their hidden desires.

Meditation, alone time, silence, and personal retreat can allow such introspection. Allow yourself to take the time to see some hidden desires under your negative emotions.

While some can do this on their own, others might need help to identify what seems impossible to sort out. You can still do this very simply just by being aware of what you desire under a negative emotion. 

Be true to yourself. Allow yourself to dream. This can only come from yourself. The misalignment is you not acknowledging it.

It might require courage as it will ask you to open the lid over what might have been pushed down. Allow yourself to feel that negative emotion just to see what it hides. Be aware of it. Take the time to list one, or a few and look underneath.

In holistic therapies, when we treat the most visible problem, the one for which a person often consults, once this problem is resolved, an older problem that might have supposedly been taken care of resurface. It was simply buried under another problem, another emotion.

The first thing I have learned when practicing naturopathy 20 years ago, is that problems are like wastes in a big bin. The top one comes out first and when the top one is out, there is now something else on top. And then what is under will get on top when its turn comes up, and so on  until you get to the bottom of the bin, which never seems to be empty because each day we add to it.

An introspection is like that garbage can. And emotions like the trash that have piled up over time.

The more you will work on deepening your Inner Self connection, and discovering who you are underneath all of those ego-based emotions, seeing what those hidden desires under those negative emotions are, the closer you will get to living in harmony with your Self capital S.
